the Potomac River &
inside the I-495
beltway, south of
the I-66 and east of
the Arlington County
line encompasses
the Southwest and
Southeast quadrants
of the District of
Columbia (DC) and
extends into
northern Virginia
(east of I-495) and
southern Maryland.
In Maryland, it
includes the
counties of Charles,
Calvert, Saint
Mary’s, and Prince
George’s south of a
line extended from
the north-south
dividing line of DC,
eastward along East
Capitol Street and
Central Avenue to
the Prince George
County’s eastern
border. In northern
Virginia it includes
territory inside of
the I-66/I-495
beltway, including
Arlington County and
parts of Fairfax
County east of the
I-495 beltway and
south of I-66.
